After 10 years Melbourne has lost the Air Awards to Adelaide.

The South Australian Government’s newly established Live Music Events Fund will fund the AIR Awards and generate a new two-day music conference until at least 2019.

The South Australian government will provide $1.35 million for the three years of support for new festivals and events.

The 11th AIR Awards will be held at the Queen’s Theatre in Adelaide on 27 July, 2017. According to the announcement, “for the first time AIR Award attendees will also be treated to a smorgasbord of after-party choice by music genre. AIR in partnership with six Adelaide city venues will host performances from some of Australia’s finest artists, whilst offering an opportunity for Music SA to engage Umbrella performers to showcase in front of interstate industry representatives”.

The Air conference in Adelaide will be held across July 27th and 28th.
