Meredith Line-up Features Thurston Moore and The Fatback Band

The Meredith Music Festival has some surprise classic artists for 2015 with Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth and 70s soul act The Fatback Band making the line-up.

The Fatback Band were one of New York’s disco acts of the 70s. Their classic is ‘(Are You Ready) Do The Bustop’, a number 26 hit in Australia in 1976 which resurged at number 38 in 1987.

Thurston Moore is a founding member of Sonic Youth (1981-2011). The band made 17 albums over that time with the Australian chart positions ‘Dirty’ (no 22, 1992), Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star’ (no 25, 1994(, ‘Washing Machine’ (no 34, 1995), ‘A Thousand Leaves’ (no 66, 1998), ‘Murray Street’ (no 78, 2002), ‘Sonic Nurse’ (no 54, 2004), ‘Rather Ripped’ (no 40, 2006) and the final album ‘The Eternal’ (no 52, 2009).

The Meredith Music Festival is December 11, 12 and 13, 2015 at the Meredith Amphitheatre.
