The J Awards were announced live on Triple J from Howler, Melbourne Tuesday, November 18. According to Triple J, the awards recognise ‘exciting new sounds, creating innovative visual representations and accomplishing career highlights’.

Mia Dyson won Australian Artist of the Year via the ABC’s digital radio service Double J. Sia and director Daniel Askill won for the music video ‘Chandelier’ and 2014’s Australian success Chet Faker picked up Album of the Year for ‘Built On Glass’.

“Thank you so much for the J Award for Album of the Year. I still remember a few years ago first hearing my song on triple j and freaking out then, so it’s a great honour. Thanks for the love and support back home from the best radio station in Australia,’ Chet Faker said in a video message from Germany.
