Australia’s punk founder Radio Birdman will reunite for a 2016 tour in June.

Deniz Tek and Rob Younger formed Radio Birdman in Sydney in 1974. The band last got together for a series of shows in Australia in 2014 to support the release of a limited edition Radio Birdman box set which has since been deleted.

Radio Birdman released two albums in the 70s and 80s, ‘Radios Appear’ (1977) and ‘Living Eyes’ (1981). ‘Radios Appear’ included the Stooges cover ‘TV Eye’.

Radio Birdman were one of the main acts for Big Day Out 1996, the year Porno For Pyros headlined with Rage Against The Machine.

Denis Tek is also a doctor and as a surgeon regularly operates out of Nowra Hospital on the NSW South Coast.
