Snoop Dogg’s Grandmother Dies

Rapper Snoop Dogg has posted a series of emotional messages on social media as he mourns following the death of his grandmother.

The hip-hop star, real name Calvin Broadus, Jr., recently lost Grandma Tate, his mother’s mum, and shared pictures of them across Twitter.com and Instagram.com on Thursday evening (25Feb16).

He then uploaded a poem by John F. Connor, and an extract reads, “Death wont (sic) keep us apart/For our love is forever/Just remember me in your heart/And one day we will be together/Live your life and live it full/don’t waste a single day/Remember I am always with you/Every step of the way.”

In the caption he writes, “I. Never left u. So beautifully put. Grandma I will allways (sic) do right by u. R. I P.” alongside emojis depicting stars, flowers, praying hands, and an angel.

The rapper shared a series of other poems and wrote in one of the captions, “Thank u God for blessing me with a grandma like mines (sic).”

He later added a picture of him, his wife Shante, and their grandson, and posted, “2more reasons 2keep on keepin on (sic).”

Singer Monica Brown, a family friend, sent her condolences on Instagram.com, writing, “We know this is a difficult time & if there’s anything we can do we love you all & we are one phone call away #RIHGrandmaTate Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the broken-hearted & saves those who are crushed in spirit (May he give you peace).”
