Taylor Swift Meets Aussie Fan Suffering Hearing Loss

Taylor Swift granted the wish of a young fan suffering from hearing loss by meeting with her during her tour in Australia over the weekend (29Nov15).

Swift is currently in Australia as part of her 1989 World Tour, and during her stop in Sydney on Saturday (28Nov15), Taylor came face-to-face with 12-year-old Jorja Hope, who was diagnosed with a condition that causes progressive inner-ear hearing loss.

According to local newspaper the Maitland Mercury, Jorja’s first concern upon receiving the life-changing new was that she wouldn’t be able to hear Taylor sing.

Soon after, Jorja’s twin sister Choloe launched an online campaign called #HelpJorjaMeetTaylorSwiftSydney, and it caught the attention of DJs at Sydney radio station Nova 96.9, who helped set up a meet-and-greet with the star before they attended the concert.

After meeting her idol, Jorja told the Maitland Mercury, “She was very, very amazing and very pretty. I didn’t expect her to be as tall as she was… It was very, very fun, we danced all night.”

“Taylor Swift, she is my idol,” Jorja added. “She does get a lot of people who say she’s bad, but she keeps on going.”

This isn’t the first time that the 25-year-old has gone out of her way to help one of her adoring fans.

Back in January (15), she sent a cheque to a fan for $1989 to help pay towards her student loan fees, while in December last year (14), the thoughtful singer wrapped and delivered Christmas presents to a number of mega-fans. Taylor reportedly stalked their social media accounts to find out what each fan really wanted for ‘Swiftmas’ and sent along a personalised letter.
