Neil Young has uploaded a trailer for his new movie ‘Mountaintop’ before the film head to cinemas around the world this week.

‘Mountaintop’ documents the creation of the new Neil Young & Crazy Horse album ‘Colorado’, out Friday 25 October. (NB: ‘Mountaintop’ the movie is not screening in Australia.)

‘Colorado’ is the first Crazy Horse album since 2012’s duel ‘Americana’ and ‘Psychedelic Pill’ albums. Young has had five more studio albums since then, one live album, one soundtrack album and six albums added to the archive collection.

The ‘Colorado’ line-up features Neil on lead vocals and guitar, Billy Talbot on bass, Ralph Molina on drums and Nils Lofgren on guitar. Original guitarist Frank ‘Poncho’ Sampedro retired to Hawaii in 2014. Nils was a member of Crazy Horse in 1970-71, 1973 and since 2018. He also played on Neil’s solo albums ‘After The Gold Rush’ (1970), ‘Tonight’s The Night’ (1975) and ‘Trans’ (1982’. Nils also remains a member of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, where has been a guitarist since 1999 and previously from 1984 to 1989 and briefly in 1995.

‘Colorado’ has already been given a decent workout live pre-release. There are only two song Young hasn’t performed in concert to date.
