in News

Music legends Nile Rodgers and Sergio Mendes have met for the first time ever in Australia.

Nile is touring The Chic Organisation with Lionel Richie while Sergio Mendes is also crossing the country. Sergio Mendes performed in Melbourne on Friday night, Nile is playing Melbourne tonight (8 April 2018).

“But I have to say I’ll miss #Australia. It’s been other worldly,” Nile Rodgers tweeted. “But I did get to meet the genius @sergiomendes for the 1st time and we’re going to make a record together”.

The fact Rodgers and Mendes haven’t met before is quite incredible, considering both artists have crossed over styles numerous times over the decades. Nile has worked with Diana Ross, David Bowie, Madonna and Duran Duran. Mendes made an album with Black Eyed Peas in 2006. He has recorded with Justin Timberlake, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, India.Arie and Jurassic 5.
