Paul Carrack have a new solo album, Soul Shadows, in January.

Carrack is known for singing with such bands as Ace (How Long), Squeeze (Tempted), Mike + the Mechanics (The Living Years) and, most recently, with Eric Clapton’s band. In addition, since 1980, he’s released sixteen solo album including 2013’s critically acclaimed Rain or Shine.

Soul Shadows picks up where Rain or Shine left off but, this time around, is comprised almost entirely of Carrack originals. The only cover on the new set is Bobby “Blue” Bland’s Share Your Love With Me, also recorded by the great Aretha Franklin.

Carrack also plays almost every instrument on the album, bringing in his son Jack on drums and a string and horn section for six of the tracks. The set was recorded in Paul’s own home studio and at AIR Studio in London.

Paul will support the new album on a U.K. tour beginning January 6.
