R.E.M. To Release 9 Disc BBC Collection

by Paul Cashmere on September 7, 2018

in News

R.E.M. will release a massive 9 disc box set of sessions, concerts and interviews conducted at the BBC.

The 8CD/1DVD collection includes a session with legendary BBC presenter John Peel (1998), the bands Drivetime and Mark and Lard appearances of 2003 and the Live Lounge performance recorded for Radio 1 in 2008.

The collection goes back to 1984 when R.E.M. were recorded in Nottingham and in 1995 for the Monster tour at Milton Keynes.

Respected BBC DJ/Presenter Jo Whiley recalls, “Their Glastonbury performance in 1999 was a dazzling moment: the band storming through an all-killer, no-filler setlist. As a headline performance, it was a triumph and, for me, it’s up there as one of the Glastonbury greats.”

A cutdown 2 disc version will also be available.
