The Richard Wilkins book ‘Black Ties, Red Carpets, Green Rooms’ was the biggest selling book of the year for New Holland Publishers.

Wilkins, who in 2012 will celebrate 25 years on Australian television, said he never expected his book to do so well. “I never expected all this. Writing the book was definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done and I’m thrilled … and relieved … that people seem to be enjoying it,” he said in a statement.
Richards Wilkins is the entertainment editor Nine Network and appears regularly on The Today Show.
After arriving in Australia from New Zealand in 1987, Wilkins went on to become the first VJ for MTV Australia when it was a TV show, not a channel.
‘Black Ties, Red Carpets, Green Rooms’ will be released as a paperback in 2012.
