Robbie Williams Sets UK Dates With Erasure

Robbie Williams has announced the first dates for his The Heavy Entertainment Show tour which will see Erasure along for support.

The current itinerary opens on June 2 in Manchester and runs through June 23 in London but it is expected that many more dates will be announced in the near future. As for the participation of Erasure, they state on their website that they are “delighted to announce that Erasure will be appearing as the very special guests on Robbie Williams’ 2017 tour” so it looks like they will be included in future announcements.

Williams is promoting his new album, Heavy Entertainment Show, which was released on Friday. There is little doubt that it will hit the top of the British charts which will give Williams his twelfth number 1 as a solo artist which, until two weeks ago, would have tied him with Elvis; however, Presley’s album The Wonder of You became his 13th to hit the top. The Beatles still are the leaders with fifteen.

Erasure haven’t released a new studio album since 2014 (The Violet Flame) although they did hit the top ten last year with the compilation Always: The Very Best of Erasure. They’ve had fifteen top ten hits in the U.K. including Sometimes, A Little Respect, Drama! and Chorus.

Tickets go on sale at 10 AM next Friday (November 11).
