Sam Smith Is Checking Out Sydney

Sam Smith snuck into Sydney last weekend for a quiet harbour side holiday before kicking off a big year of touring.

The new name in UK pop is a six-time Grammy nominee this year. He is up for Best New Artist, his album ‘In The Lonely Hour’ is nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ and his song ‘Stay With Me’ is up for ‘Record of the Year’, ‘Song of the year’ and ‘Best Pop Solo Performance’.

‘In The Lonely Hour’ was the third biggest selling album of 2014 in the USA with 1.2 million sales. The album was the no. 2 biggest album of the year in the UK.

Smith’s first show for 2015 is at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on January 9. In March he will tour Europe and then it is on to Australia and New Zealand for more dates in April.

Sam Smith currently has shows booked through until mid-June in France.

Smith is holidaying in Sydney with friend Jonathan Zeizel. The pair have been posting photos from Sydney Harbour, on top of the Harbour Bridge and from the Sydney fireworks on New Year’s Eve.

Sam Smith will tour Australia and New Zealand for Frontier Touring.
