Scorpions Cancel Sydney Show Tonight

by Paul Cashmere on November 10, 2018

in News

Scorpions will be a no-show in Sydney tonight after cancelling their Melbourne show with Def Leppard just two days earlier.

In a statement singer Klaus Meine said, “Dear Australian Fans, believe me I have tried everything to be up on Stage tonight in Sydney … I haven‘t said a word in the last 36 Hours to rest my pipes but unfortunately my voice is not back to the power it needs to sing my heart out for you tonight. You deserve nothing less than the best Performance and I hope we have a chance to come back, to finally ‘Rock you Like a Hurricane’. Thank you for all the ‘get well soon’ messages. Thank you, Def Leppard, for your amazing support on this Tour. Love Klaus”

It is uncertain at this stage how Live Nation will compensate Sydney and Melbourne fans for the cancellation. Paying full-price after this mishap would be like ordering an entrée and a main in a restaurant, only getting the main and still be expecting to pay for the entrée.

The remaining member of Scorpions will still do their meet and greet with fans with Klaus but will not perform. In their place Live Nation has recruited Dallas Crane.

Def Leppard and Scorpions have one remaining show in Auckland after Sydney. It is hoped Klaus will be well enough to perform at the New Zealand show on Monday.
