Sheryl Crow Says What Taylor Swift Is Too Scared To Say

Why does it take artists like Sheryl Crow to stand-up and show backbone against the US President while Taylor Swift continues to be the poster girl for corportate America?

Crow was quick to condemn Crooked Donnie at her concert in Melbourne, Australia this week but Swift has remained silent about any issues concerning the president.

It is taking artists like Sheryl Crow, Richard Marx, Bette Midler and Barbra Streisand be speak up about US arms dealers the NRA following Parkland, while the current calibre of pop star remains silent.

Sheryl Crow told her Melbourne fans “we have free speech but that gives people licence to be ugly. America is weird and if it doesn’t come out of it we are f’d”.

Crow is touring Australia with her two sons, aged 7 and 10. As a mother she fears “f’d America”.

Sheryl joked she was looking at real estate in Australia, then said she wasn’t really, then said “well maybe”. She certainly took time out to visit a Melbourne landmark Luna Park and take the boys on the 105 year old Scenic Railway.

Sheryl Crow also tried to engulf herself in Melbourne culture telling her fans “thanks for coming here instead of going to the footies (sic)”. She referred to “the footies” later again later in the show (she’ll learn) before Melissa Etheridge joined her on stage to educate her some more about the female footy she had just been to see.

This was the first time Melissa Etheridge and Sheryl Crow had toured Australia together. Crow was last in the country eight years ago with John Mellencamp. The special moment was Melissa and Sheryl performing Gregg Allman’s ‘Midnight Rider’ together.
