Slash and Wife Perla Split After 13 Years

Slash has reportedly separated from his wife Perla after 13 years of marriage.

The 49-year-old guitarist and Perla Ferrar have sons London, 12, and ten-year-old Cash together. Their relationship has been stormy over the years, with Slash filing for divorce before retracting the papers in 2010.

It’s now been claimed the couple are having further problems, with TMZ suggesting Perla is taking a break from the relationship. According to the site she left Los Angeles for Hawaii over the weekend, taking the boys with her.

“This time it’s different. Although Perla is telling friends this a separation, we’re told she hasn’t filed legally,” a source told TMZ.

Apparently Perla has issued a deadline to her estranged spouse, warning that they need to make a real effort to work out their problems by the beginning of 2015 or else she sees no way forward for them.

At the moment Slash hasn’t commented on the report and there is no further information about what has caused the alleged marriage breakdown. Apparently neither is stating divorce is on the cards just yet either.

In 2010 Slash cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ for the proposed split, but a year later he and Perla were renewing their wedding vows. She even wore the same dress she opted for the first time around for the ceremony, with the rocker previously explaining he takes his family life very seriously.

‘I want to make sure that I instill in my children some of the values that kept me grounded growing up. In the midst of all the drugs and the booze and the chicks, no matter how crazy I have been, there was always a decorum and set of manners. A lot of that came from my parents and wider family,’ he told British newspaper The Independent.
