Alt-rock stars Something For Kate return with their new album Leave Your Soul To Science.

It’ll be their sixth album as a band and their first in six years following a successful solo jaunt from frontman Paul Dempsey.

They recorded it in Dallas, Texas with producer John Congleton (previously working with Explosions in the Sky, St. Vincent, and Okkervil River) over the last couple of months in the sweltering summer.

Dempsey says in a press release “It’s definitely the most sonically interesting record we’ve ever made. There’s some really savage, fuzz bass sounds on there. On the one hand, it feels like the most organic record we’ve ever made, because it’s all happened so naturally and quickly. We haven’t over-thought anything.”

They’ve also relaunched their website, so have a click around and sign up for their mailing list for secret show info, pre-sales and news.

The band will surely deliver some new tunes as part of the Queenscliff Music Festival in November.

Leave Your Soul To Science will be released through Capitol/EMI on September 28. Revisit a tune from their last album below.
