Rocket Juice and The Moon features Damon Albarn (Blur/Gorillaz), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Tony Allen (Fela Kuti).

Over a three week period the trio gathered at Albarn’s West London studio and recorded over two dozen tracks. They then invited friends to collaborate, including Erykah Badu, Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, Cheick Tidiane Sec, Ghanaian rapper M.anifest and the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.

Rocket Juice and The Moon made their debut live performance on October 28, 2011 at the Cork Jazz Festival in Cork, Ireland.

Albarn then hooked up with his mates at Honest Jon’s indie record store on Portobello Road in London and has now released the album through their Honest Jon label.
