SXSW, the world’s biggest music conference held annually in Austin, Texas, is open for 2014 registrations.
SXSW will be held from March 7 to 16, 2014. The Film festival is March 7 to 15, the Interactive conferences take place from March 7 to 11 and Music is on from March 11 to 16.
SXSW 2014 is expected to attract over 50,000 registrants for the conferences, trade shows and festival.
The SXSW music festival and conference attracted applications to perform from over 10,000 artists from 55 countries in 2014. There are roughly 2000 official slots at the event and around 40 acts from Australia will attend again in 2014. Australia is the third most represented country after the USA and UK. In 2013, Australia had over 650 delegates travel to Austin to attend the conference.
This year, Australian artists at SXSW included 360, San Cisco, Flume, Blackchords, Alpine, Atlas Genius, The Beards, The Audreys, Vaudeville Smash, The Rubens, Vance Joy, Seth Sentry, Clairy Browne & The Bangin’ Rackettes and Gold Fields.
