Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ album has sold over 700,000 copies in the first day in the USA and is on track to sell 1.2 million in the first week.

Pre-orders for the album were 400,000 with a further 317,000 jumping in on day to add to the presales.

‘Reputation’ is set to beat the 2017 record so far set by Ed Sheeran’s ‘divide’ album with 909,000 sales in the first week back in March.

Swift’s previous three albums sold over one million copies in the first week. ‘1989’ in 2014 did 1.29 million, ‘Red’ in 2012 sold 1.21 million and ‘Speak Now’ in 2010 sold 1.05 million.

For Sheeran, he wins either way. Ed is on Taylor’s new album co-writing and performing the song ‘End Game’.
