Texas To Tour Australia For The Very First Time

Scottish band Texas will tour Australia for the first time ever in December.

Texas was founded in 1986 by Johnny McElhone (formerly of Altered Images) and Sharleen Spiteri. They took their name from Wim Winders movie ‘Paris, Texas’.

‘Southside’, the debut album for Texas released in 1989, reached no 14 in Australia and delivered their first hit ‘I Don’t Want A Lover’ (no 4, 1989).

‘Say What You Want’, the band’s second hit in Australia, happened in 1997. The song reached no 11 in Australia.

Texas have had 22 Top 40 hits in the UK.
