The Avalanches Will Perform Australian Shows In January

The Avalanches will finally activate for live shows in January.

The shows will hopefully regenerate interest in The Avalanches second album ‘Wildflower’ released 10 weeks ago and already out of the Top 50 selling albums in Australia.

‘Wildflower’ came 16 years after the Melbourne electronic acts debut album ‘Since I Left You’ in 2000.

The ‘Wildflower’ album was introduced with the innovative ‘Frankie Sinatra’ but commercial radio struggled playlisting the song and consequent focus tracks.

A second single ‘Subways’, despite its quirky Bee Gees sample of Graham Bonnet’s ‘Warm Ride’ also failed to interest radio. It is currently placed at no 473 on the ARIA chart.

Following a badly planned media campaign and without commercial radio support and delayed live activity ‘Wildflower’ wilted early but could still be resurrected if The Avalanches can remind fans the album does exist.
