The Monkees Will Release Their First Christmas Album

The Monkees are about to release their very first Christmas album.

‘Christmas Party’ has an all-star cast including guitarists Peter Buck of R.E.M. and Scott McCaughey of The Minus 5 play on two songs – a cover of Big Star’s Jesus Christ and the album’s title track, which they wrote together.

Once again River Cuomo of Weezer and Andy Partridge of XTC have contributed the songs ‘What Would Santa Do’ and ‘Unwrap Me At Christmas’. Cumo and Partridge wrote for The Monkees 2016 ‘Good Times’ album.

Producer Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne is also back working with The Monkees on ‘Christmas Party’.

Schlesinger has also managed to include two tracks with the vocals of the late Davy Jones on the record

The Monkees ‘Christmas Party’ will be released on 12 October 2018.
