Mick Jagger confirmed that the Rolling Stones will definitely be on the bill when he tweeted, “Can’t wait to play Glastonbury. I have my wellies and my yert”.

Stones guitarist Keith Richards has also released a statement saying, “We all had such a ball last year, and the energy between the band is so good. We can’t wait to play Glastonbury, see you on a summer’s day in England!”

The Rolling Stones are celebrating their 50th anniversary. In November, 2012 they played two shows in London and three in the USA as well as two warm-up gigs in Paris.

Those shows reunited the band with former members Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor in guest appearances. Billy Wyman’s Rhythm Kings are also on the Glastonbury bill.

More Stones dates are expected to be announced in coming days.

The Rolling Stones will headline the Glastonbury Festival on June 29.
