The Seekers Confirm Judith Durham Singing Better Than Ever

The Seekers have confirmed that Judith Durham is well enough to tour again that that the tour will recommence in November.

“We are thrilled to have the four of us back together. We were all looking forward to this day and finally we confirm this is it folks, we are getting back on stage,” Judith told Noise11.com.

The Seekers 50th Anniversary Tour came to a sudden halt in May when 10 shows into the tour Judith suffered a cerebral haemorrhage after the band’s first Melbourne show. She spent three months recovering at the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne.

Two weeks ago The Seekers reunited for a rehearsal to test the waters and 15 minutes in they new Judith was well enough to tour again. “We planned it over a weekend when all of us got into concert mode, particularly Judith singing … we needed her confidence in the fact she could schlep around and be in her comfort zone and our own. We had a beaut full day together and pretended we were all on tour and we were in a little hall up near my place,” Athol Guy said. We had a soundcheck in the afternoon, took our time, didn’t rush and within 15 minutes of soundcheck I remember Judith turning around to me smiling and saying ‘this is what we do’.

The tour will resume in Perth on November 2 and a new Tasmanian date has been added. The Seekers will also tour the UK from April, 2014.
