Vance Joy Riptide Certified Double Platinum In The USA

Vance Joy has been awarded Double Platinum certification in the USA for sales of more than 2 million for his song ‘Riptide’.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has announced Vance Joy achievement two years to the week after the song was released in the USA on May 21, 2013.

‘Riptide’ by Melbourne based singer songwriter James Keogh (aka Vance Joy) has been the biggest selling Australian produced song since another Melbourne resident Wally De Backer (aka) Gotye had a number one hit in the USA with Kimbra in 2011 with ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’.

On May 13, 2015, Vance Joy performed ‘Riptide’ on the season finale of American Idol with New Orleans contestant Quentin Alexander.

‘Riptide’ peaked at no 6 in Australia, no 10 in the UK and no 30 in the USA. His album ‘Dream Your Life Away’ reached no 1 in Australia, no 20 in the UK and no 17 in the USA.
