Vika and Linda Bull will be spending New Years Eve at MEMO Music Hall after they wrap up their current tour with Paul Kelly. Kelly has one more show in Brisbane 21 December.

Vika and Linda performed at MEMO Music Hall in St Kilda in July when they sold out four shows. The hometown return for New Years Eve will have them in party mode.

The Bull sisters have been performing as a duo since 1993 after serving their apprenticeship as backing singers for The Black Sorrows. The singing went from backing to forefront when Joe let Vika loose on the lead vocals for ‘Never Let Me Go’.

The Vika and Linda credits weren’t limited to the Black Sorrows. They also appear on Hunters & Collectors ‘What’s A Few Men?’ and ‘Ghost Nation’, Ross Wilson’s ‘Dark Side of the Man’, Archie Roach’s ‘Charcoal Lane’, John Farnham’s ‘Chain Reaction’ and Deborah Conway’s ‘String of Pearls’ and ‘Bitch Epic’.

The first album for ‘Vika and Linda’ was their self-titled album on 1994. It featured songs written for them by Paul Kelly, Mark Seymour, Stephen Cummings, Joe Camilleri and Eris O’Brien.

In 2018, Vika and Linda started work on what will be their first album of new material since 2002. The expected release date is in February 2019.

Tickets for Vika and Linda’s New Years Eve show are available from MEMO Music Hall’s website. The special guests will be Cookin’ on 3 Burners.

When Oasis decamped to a remote recording studio on the Cornish coast in 1994, the Gallagher brothers and their bandmates could scarcely have imagined that the house in which they cut their teeth would one day go on the market as a rock ’n’ roll landmark. Yet three decades later, the property known as Sawmills Studio in Golant, Cornwall, the house where Oasis recorded their game-changing debut Definitely Maybe, is being offered for sale at $2.64 million (£1.95 million).

Garbage Debut Album ‘Garbage’ Turns 30

When Garbage released their self-titled debut album in August 1995, the alternative rock landscape was already shifting. Grunge was waning, Britpop was peaking in the UK, and electronic music was beginning to infiltrate rock’s DNA. Into this transitional moment stepped Garbage, a genre-blurring project that fused rock guitars, trip-hop beats, industrial noise, and pop hooks into something sleek yet menacing.
