DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince are set to put on a rare show at this summer’s Livewire Festival in Blackpool, England.

This new weekend in a festival crazy Britain will be held from August 25 to 27 at Headland’s Arena in Blackpool and, so far, has just announced the headliners which include The Jacksons on Friday, the Hit Factory (Pete Waterman, Jason Donovan, Pepsie & Shirlie, Go West, Samantha Fox, Sinitta, Nathan Moore (Brother Beyond) and Undercover) on Saturday and DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince closing on Sunday.

Will Smith and Jeff Townes first started performing together in the 1985 in West Philadelphia. Their first single, Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble (1986 / #57 Pop / #81 R&B) proved to be a regional hit but it would be until two years later that they would break nationally with Parents Just Don’t Understand (1988 / #12 Pop / #10 R&B). They followed with such hits as A Nightmare On My Street (1988 / #15 Pop / #9 R&B), Summertime (1991 / #4 Pop / #1 R&B) and Boom! Shake the Room (1993 / #13 Pop / #21 R&B).

Since then, Smith has gone on to a very successful solo career as an actor and rapper and Townes has continued to tour. The duo reunited in 2013 on The Graham Norton Show and Smith has hinted at a 2017 tour.
