The Flamin’ Groovies Release ‘Crazy Macy’ To Mark 50th Anniversary

For the first time in their more than 40-year career, Australian rock legends Hoodoo Gurus will perform with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in a one-night-only event at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Thursday 29 January 2026.

The 2026 Greenstone Entertainment Summer Concert Tour will unite some of the most iconic names in rock music, with Iggy Pop, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Hoodoo Gurus, and Zed set to share the stage across New Zealand in January.

You can’t make this up. Iggy Pop’s parrot Biggy has given Hoodoo Gurus the ultimate seal of approval.

The Hoodoo Gurus are gearing up to celebrate one of the defining moments of their career. This October, the band will mark the 40th anniversary of their landmark second album Mars Needs Guitars! with a deluxe double-vinyl reissue that captures the essence of 1985 while opening the vaults on long-lost demos and a previously unheard outtake.

Cheersquad Records (AUS) and Folc Records (Spain) will mark the 40th anniversary of one of Australian punk’s most infamous singles, I Can’t Control Myself / Born To Be Punched by James Baker and the James Baker Experience. The limited-edition reissue arrives on October 7, 2025, in five vinyl variants.

James Baker, a founding member and drummer for The Hoodoo Gurus, later with Beasts of Bourbon and The Dubrovniks, has died at the age of 71.

Memorial details have been revealed for the service for Mick Mazzone, the manager of Hoodoo Gurus and former manager of Ian Moss.
