Ace Frehley finally has a hit record on the USA.

Ace Frehley’s new album, Space Invader, debuts at number 9, giving him the first top ten album of his thirty-six year solo recording career. The closest he came previously was with the Ace Frehley album, released on the same day as solo albums by the other three KISS members, in 1978. That album reached number 26.

As a member of KISS, he did make it to number 3 in 1998 when the original members reformed to make Psycho Circus.

Also scoring a major milestone is Smokey Robinson with his new duets album Smokey and Friends. The album premiers this week at 12, the highest he has been on the Albums chart since Being With You made it to number 10 in 1981.

Last week’s number 1, the 70’s music compilation Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Volume 1, drops one spot to number 2.

At number 35 is the debut of Blind Rage by German heavy metal band Accept. In Germany, it is already being marked as the group’s first number 1 album in their 35 year recording career. Here in the states, it is also their best ever, beating out 1983’s Balls to the Wall which only made it to 74.

Dr. John debuts at 84 with Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of Satch. His last album, 2012’s Locked Down, started at 33.

A new Starbuck’s collection which includes the likes of Ray Charles, Betty Carter and Serge Gainsbourgh, The Cocktail Hour, opens up at 97 while, at 110, is the new Amy Grant album that takes her older music and mixes it with a dance beat, In Motion: The Remixes.

The “Godfather of Go-Go”, the late Chuck Brown, returns to the charts at 140 with Beautiful Life. He previously made it as high as 31 back in 1979 with Bustin’ Loose.

The top five albums this week on the Billboard Albums chart:
Blacc Hollywood – Wiz Khalifa
Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix, Volume 1 – Various Artists
Ignite the Night – Chase Rice
Now 51 – Various Artists
Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Motley Crue – Various Artists
The top five singles:
