in Live,News

Madonna Australian and New Zealand dates for the Rebel Heart world tour have been announced for March 2016.

Madonna will perform two shows each in Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane starting on March 5.

The Rebel Tour will mark the second time Madonna has toured Australia and her first time in New Zealand. Madonna was last down under (yes we know poor choice of phrase) in November and December 1993 when she performed three shows in Sydney, three in Melbourne and a show each for Brisbane and Adelaide.

On the 1993 Girlie Tour Madonna sold 147,241 tickets for the three Melbourne shows at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and 135,000 tickets for the Sydney shows at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

In 1994, a VHS (and later DVD) of ‘The Girlie Show: Live Down Under’ was released from the November 19, 1993 Sydney show.
