Metallica to Reunite with the San Francisco Symphony for S&M2

Metallica will get back with the Sam Francisco Symphony for a reunion 20 years on of the ‘S&M’ (Symphony & Metallica) event.

‘Symphony & Metallica’ aka ‘S&M’ originally featured Metallica performing their catalogue with the San Francisco Symphony. The event was released as a live album and a DVD.

‘S&M2’ will be filmed in 6 and 8 September and that performance will screen in 3000 cinemas worldwide on 9 October 2019.

Metallica will once again front the San Francisco Symphony this time conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas. This will be Michael Tilson Thomas’ final season with the San Francisco Symphony.

“We’ll be performing several tracks from the original ’99 S&M release as well as symphonic versions of new songs released since then,” Metallica said in a statement.
