Motley Crue Will End Tonight

Tonight is the last show for Motley Crue.

Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars will take the stage tonight at the Staples Center for what they have guaranteed as being their final show, even going so far as signing a Cessation of Touring Agreement when the final tour was announced in January 2014. If the band reunites at any time in the future to tour, as so many other “retired” artists have done, they will not legally be able to use the Motley Crue name.

There appears to be some mixed emotions from band members now that the end has come. Sixx told Billboard “I don’t know how we’re going to feel. We’ve been dodging that question for two years – and now there’s no getting out of it. We’re pretty rough-and-tumble dudes. But even the toughest guy going in for his last fight is going to feel a pang in his heart.

“I’m guaranteeing that something’s going to happen that I don’t know about, and I don’t want to think about until it happens. I just hope I don’t cry during Shout At The Devil.”

Even though the band will not continue as a touring entity, it doesn’t mean you won’t here from the group or the members. Sixx is going to concentrate on his group Sixx:A.M., Neil has solo work planned and we don’t think Lee or Mars are just going to sit around at home.

In addition, the long in production movie of their career based on their book The Dirt finally has a script and Neil has said it should be out next summer; however, that is an EXTREMELY ambitious schedule.

The final two nights of the tour are also being recorded to be released as a full length concert film. Along with the shows, the movie will also have interviews with the band members and behind-the-scenes footage from the final week of the tour. While release plans have not been announced, this seems like the type of project that would go to theaters as a one or two-night “event” followed by a video release.
