Noel Neill, who played Lois Lane in The Adventures of Superman from season two under the final season six, has died in Tucson, Arizona at the age 95.

Noel originally played Lois Lane in the in the 1940s serial and then in the films ‘Superman’ (1948) and ‘Atom Man vs Superman’ (1950).

Phyllis Coates played Lois Lane in the first season of The Adventures of Superman TV series in 1951 but was unavailable for the second season. Noel took the part and stayed to the end of the series in 1958.

Noel Neill also played Lois Lane’s mother in the 1978 Superman movie and also had a cameo in the 2006 movie ‘Superman Returns’ as Lex Luthor’s dying wife.

Before acting Noel Neill was a singer. She sang with Bong Crosby and his Orchestra and often performed solo at Bing Crosby’s club Del Mar Turf Club.

Noel Neill was the second last surviving main cast member of The Adventures of Superman. Jack Larson (Jimmy Olsen) died 20 September 2015, John Hamilton (Perry White) died 15 October, 1958, George Reeves (Superman) died 16 June 1959 and his unsolved death was the subject of the movie Hollywoodland (2006). Robert Shayne (Inspector Henderson) died 29 November, 1992 at age 92.

The only living main cast member is Phyllis Coates who played Lois in season one. She is now 89 years old. Coates played Lois Lane’s mother Ella in the 1990s TV series Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
