The Dead Daisies have reconvened in a studio in Sydney this week to start recording their second album with one-time Motley Crue singer John Corabi on vocals.

The band flew to Sydney after playing in Cuba at the end of February and spent all of last week writing and rehearsing the songs that fans will hear when the album is released around June.

The forever evolving line-up of The Dead Daisies for album two will include founder David Lowy (guitar), mainstay members Dizzy Reed (keyboards) and Richard Fortus (guitar) of Guns N Roses, Marco Mendoza of Thin Lizzy (bass) and for this record one-time Motley Crue and Scream member John Corabi on vocals and Jackie Barnes on drums.

Corabi The Dead Daisies performed with The Dead Daisies in Cuba along with Rolling Stones bass player Daryl Jones and backing singer Bernard Fowler. It was Fowler’s first time with the band. “From the time we landed till the time we left we were given so much love. The enthusiasm and just pure joy for the music was infectious. The Cuban spirit spirit is a live and strong and what an honor to share this experience with such talented people I got Cuba in my blood can’t get back soon enough. Rice and black beans anyone? Hell yeah,” he said in a statement to Noise11.com.

Daisies drummer Brian Tichy (Whitesnake) also played in Cuba but was unavailable for the album sessions in Sydney.

The Dead Daisies will tour Australia with Kiss in October.
