Todd Rundgren and Daryl Hall Perform ‘Chance For Us’

A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Daryl Hall, and a guy that should be a member, Todd Rundgren, recently got together to make the official video for the song Chance For Us.

Chance For Us is from Todd Rundgren’s great new album, White Knight, a set that sees him perform with numerous guest artists who, unlike a duets album, Rundgren let do their own thing.

For example, the song Tin Foil Hat features Donald Fagan doing all of the main vocals with Rundgren relegated to backup. Todd told Billboard “I wasn’t interested in singing over the top of somebody else, or vice versa. I wanted to highlight all of the collaborators and create a space for them to do their thing without me kind of undercutting it.”

Chance For Us does come off a bit more like a duet with Hall and Rundgren trading lines throughout most of the song.

The Damned released the first ever UK punk single, “New Rose” off album Damned, Damned, Damned, in 1976, and were often overshadowed by their English punk counterparts. Now in their late sixties and still touring world-wide, featuring the original line up of Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Paul Gray, they are the ones having the last laugh and have left their old rivals for dead, in certain respects, quite literally!
