The news of the ABBA reunion has send fans streaming their old hits.

In the USA, ABBA registered a 36% increase on streaming services following news of their digital reunion for a BBC television special later this year.

The most streamed ABBA song in the week following the announcement was ‘Dancing Queen’, registering 1.42 million streams. In total, 6.38 million streams were registered in the USA, according to Billboard.

However, every week is a good week for ABBA on streaming services. The previous week had the iconic Swedish pop band at 4.69 million streams.

ABBA fans go for Gold, ‘ABBA Gold’ that is. The compilation album has sold 5.8 million copies in America.

ABBA also announced that they have been back in the studio together for the first time since the ‘80s to record two new songs to be released later this year. So far only one title has been revealed. The song is titled ‘I Still Have Faith In You’.

The reunion will be purely digital. Instead of touring the world, ABBA have created avatars (christened abbatars). The virtual members will do everything the real life members of ABBA can do … instead of age.
