Adrian Belew Is Now A Colonel In Kentucky

by Paul Cashmere on June 13, 2017

in News

Adrian Belew is now Colonel Adrian Belew.

Adrian, who has played with Zappa, Bowie, Talking Heads and for more than 30 years King Crimson, was bestowed the honor by Matthew G. Bevin, the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky on June 6.

Commissions for Kentucky colonels are given by the governor and the secretary of state to individuals in recognition of noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to a community, state or the nation.

Adrian Belew is in Australia this week for an exclusive residency at Bird’s Basement in Melbourne.

Meantime on the other side of the planet his latest project Gizodrome is being unveiled. Gizmodrome is Stewart Copeland (The Police and multi-awarded soundtracks composer), Mark King (Level 42), Adrian Belew (ex King Crimson, David Bowie, Frank Zappa and Talking Heads) and Vittorio Cosma (who played with Italian prog legends PFM and an impressive list of Italian and international stars).

“Gizmodrome totally surprised me,” Adrian said. “I went into a studio in Italy not knowing what to expect and by the end of day one of recording I knew two things: the musical chemistry was incredibly exciting and we were having incredible fun!”.

The ‘Gizmodrome’ album will be released on 15 September, 2017.
