One of the albums with the most pre-order interest so far this year over at Amazon is Windy City by Alison Krauss. It has rarely fallen out of the top twenty since the album was announced a month ago.

Windy City is Krauss’ fifth solo album, without her regular band Union Station, and her first since 1999’s superb Forget About It.

Set for release a week from Friday, February 17, the album includes ten covers of songs originally performed by Glen Campbell (Gentle on My Mind), Eddy Arnold (You Don’t Know Me), Roger Miller (River in the Rain) and others including Brenda Lee which she covers twice, on All Alone Am I and Losing You which is the first single released from the set.

Lee originally released Losing You, written by Jean Renard and Carl Sigman, in 1963. It went to number 6 and was the last of twelve top ten hits she had between 1959 and 1963.
