Soul legend Aretha Franklin and Aerosmith lothario Steven Tyler both sign up for their third marriages.
Aretha Franklin is now bethrothed to “longtime friend” William ‘Willie’ Wilkinson, according to the Associated Press. It will be the 69-year-old’s third marriage and they are considering a Miami wedding.
AP also report that Aerosmith frontman and Amercian Idol judge Steven Tyler will be heading down the aisle for his third marriage as well. He is engaged to former model Erin Brady, who he has been dating for seven years and was the band’s tour accountant when they first met.
Tyler and Brady spoke to Oprah Winfrey for her Final Chapter show, according to Us Magazine.
Tyler said, “For all the divorces I’ve had, I hurt those girls deeply, and there was some behavior that I’m ashamed of and I shouldn’t have done. I don’t want to hurt anybody again.
And Brady had a tactic to ensure Tyler’s fidelity, telling Winfrey, “I just said, ‘Hey listen, if you play, I’m gonna play’. He didn’t really like when he was on the other side of that scenario.”
