Beyonce can treat herself to a big glass of Lemonade after receiving 11 MTV Video Music Awards for her latest record-breaking album.

Beyonce leads the pack, while British powerhouse Adele follows with eight nods thanks mainly to her comeback hit single Hello, from her album 25.

Seven of her nominations, including Video of the Year, are for the track, which she released last year (15) after a three-year hiatus, while her eighth nomination is in the Best Visual Effects category.

The 28-year-old faces stiff competition in the top category, which also features Beyonce’s Formation, Drake’s Hotline Bling, Justin Bieber’s Sorry and Kanye West’s controversial Famous video.

Meanwhile, Beyonce’s Formation also picked up nods for Best Pop Video, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and Best Choreography, with the superstar gaining a second entry in that category for her Sorry video.

Her track Hold Up also landed nods for Best Female Video and Best Art Direction, while her song Freedom, which features rapper Kendrick Lamar, scored a nomination in the Best Collaboration category.

Unsurprisingly, Lemonade, which the R&B superstar debuted in a TV special in April (16), also received a nod in the Breakthrough Long Form Video category.

Other stars to receive multiple nominations include Drake, with six, Ariana Grande, with five, and Rihanna, with four.

The contenders were unveiled via a Facebook Live broadcast from New York on Tuesday (26Jul16), and the ceremony is set to take place on 28 August (15) at Madison Square Garden.

Fans can vote for Video of the Year, Best Male Video, Best Female Video and the new Best Long Form Video category at vma.mtv.com, while voting for Best New Artist will stay open through the VMAs pre-show, which will air live on 28 August.
