by Paul Cashmere on January 24, 2017

in News

Bliss N Eso have released a statement following the death of actor Johann Ofner, who died on Monday in a “workplace accident” while filming a video for the trio.

28-year old Ofner died from gunshot wounds when a prop gun was fired into his chest on location at the Brooklyn Standard bar in central Brisbane.

In a statement Bliss N Eso said,

“We are devastated about the tragic passing of Johann Ofner. Out of respect to Johann’s family, friends and the on-going investigation we don’t feel it is appropriate for us to make further comment at this time. We chose not to disclose Johann’s details yesterday to ensure police had time to contact his family and friends, however this information is now clearly in the public forum. We continue to express our support and condolences to the family and friends of those so deeply affected by this sad event and appreciate your on-going understanding in this incredibly difficult time.

As there have been many varying media reports about what took place yesterday our management team are in the process of issuing further known information to the media”.

Much love,
Bliss, Eso and Izm

It is currently unclear why the gun was loaded and if the loaded gun was armed with blanks or bullets.

Detective Inspector Tom Armitt of Brisbane police said, “I can’t tell you whether they’re live or real firearms, I can’t tell you the type of ammunition that were being used.

“The deceased person was an actor in the scene.

“No other actors were injured, no other persons who were present were injured.”
