Blondie To Release ‘Pollinator’ in May

in News

There’s a lot of news from the Blondie front today as they announce a new album, single and tour.

Blondie will release Pollinator on May 5 via BMG. Produced by John Congleton and recorded at the now closed Magic Shop, the album includes guest appearances by Joan Jett, Laurie Anderson, John Roberts and the Gregory Brothers along with songs written by the likes of Johnny Marr, Sia, Charli XCX, David Sitek of TV on the Radio, Nick Valensi of the Strokes and Dev Hynes.

According to sources, the album has more of the sound of Blondie’s earlier recordings, giving up on the EDM style of their last album, Ghosts of Download.

The first single, Fun, is a collaboration with Sitek and returns the band to a bit of a disco sound. Guitarist Chris Stein said “Quoting Emma Goldman, ‘If I can’t dance I don’t want to be part of your revolution.’ In these trying times we need some fun.”

The track list for Pollinator:

Doom or Destiny
Long Time
Already Naked
Fun
My Monster
Best Day Ever
Gravity
When I Gave up on You
Love Level
Too Much
Fragments

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
