Bon Iver To Headline Dark Mofo 2020

Indie-folk legends Bon Iver are set to headline Dark Mofo 2020, with a full national tour around the festival appearance.

The festival will be the first time the band has made it to Tasmania, kicking off their Australian tour at the acclaimed art space Mac2.

After the festival, they’ll head to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth with two dates in New Zealand preceding their Australian jaunt.

The band’s fourth album ‘i,i’ (pronounced “I comma I”) is a glorious tribute to autumn (or “fall” for all you North Americans out there). Celebrating the time of year when life settles down after the summer, leaves fall from the trees and everything begins the journey back to dormancy. It completes the cycle with his first album ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’ representing winter, ‘Bon Iver, Bon Iver’ is the new life of spring and ’22, A Million’ celebrates the festive summer season.

“It feels very much like the most adult record, the most complete,” singer Justin Vernon claimed. “It feels like when you get through all this life, when the sun starts to set, and what happens is you start gaining perspective. And then you can put that perspective into more honest, generous work.”

Throughout the years, singer Justin Vernon has collaborated with a number of artists, including Kanye West, Jay-Z and members of The National, seamlessly weaving his distinct style into the work of his collaborators.

Tickets to the Dark Mofo performance are on sale on Thursday, December 5 at 11am through www.darkmofo.net.au. Presales can be bought from Tuesday, December 3 at 10am.
