Cheech and Chong’s Australian tour has been cancelled following Tommy Chong’s cancer returning.

Promoter KillRockStar Entertainment has advised that due to a “serious health issue” all upcoming Australian dates have been cancelled.

Chong has told fans of this situation. “I’ve had some medical issues lately, I got diagnosed with rectal cancer,” he told High Times Magazine. On Twitter he posted, “I have good news and bad news. First the bad news, the cancer came back and it’s a real pain in the butt. The good news is I now have to use more marijuana to treat the cancer.”

In a statement KillRockStar said, “KillRockStar and Cheech & Chong apologise for any disappointment caused to their loyal Australian fans and vow to return once Tommy has overcome this challenging health issue”.

All tickets will be refunded at the place of purchase.

Cancelled dates are:

June 18, Brisbane, Eatons Hill Hotel
June 19, Sydney, The Enmore
June 20, Melbourne, The Palais
June 21, Adelaide, Thebarton
June 22, Perth, Concert Hall
