Could America Become Australia After Gerry Beckley Marriage?

by Paul Cashmere on April 6, 2017

in News

America co-founder Gerry Beckley has been spending most of his spare time in Sydney after marrying his Australian girlfriend in December.

Hints of Beckley’s forthcoming nomadic lifestyle started to surface in 2014 when Gerry put his 400 square metre Sherman Oaks house on the market for $2.199 million.

Gerry’s musical partner Dewey Bunnell confirmed to Noise11 that America is now half-Australian. “Gerry Beckley, my partner, has married one of your very own Aussie ladies. They got married in December. He splits his time. He has been spending a lot more time off the road in Sydney,” Dewey said.

Although he is not quite at voting stage just yet, Dewey says, “he is certainly stacking up the frequent flyer points.”

America will return to Australia for dates in July and August with special guest Russell Morris.

America dates

24 July, Perth, Crown Theatre
26 July, Melbourne, Hamer Hall
28 July, Sydney, ICC
29 July, Caloundra, The vents Centre
30 July, Broadbeach, Country Festival
2 August, Wollongong, WIN Ent Centre
3 August, Canberra, Royal Theatre

Leo Sayer Shares His Thoughts on The Passing of Sly Stone

There really is a riot going on right now, so what a poignant moment it seems to be to lose a hero I never met, yet a man I often imagined as my soul brother. I worked with many of his alumni (including the man who helped invent him, fellow San Fran disk jockey Tom Donahue), and to say they and he inspired me would be a useless understatement.
