in News

Crowded House will perform a third show at the Sydney Opera House on the 20th anniversary of the band’s farewell show in 1996.

Crowded House farewelled fans with the Farewell To The World show on November 24, 1996. The new show will allow fans to relive that moment on November 24, 2016.

The 90s farewell show was so long ago that when it was released it was on VHS. A CD and DVD of the complete concert was released for the 10th anniversary in November 2006.

Support bands for the original shows were Custard, You Am I and Powderfinger. Powderfinger also released highlights of their performance as a bonus disc with their ‘Internationist’ album.

On the weekend, Chris Martin of Coldplay and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam performed the Crowded House classic ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ in New York.

Crowded House dates

November 24, 25, 26, Sydney, Opera House Forecourt

Crowded House will be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in November. Their catalogue will be remastered and expanded for reissue in November as well.
