Chris Martin hosted his curated Global Music Festival on the weekend and treated fans to some tasty covers from Crowded House and Patti Smith with Eddie Vedder.

Vedder also stripped back Pearl Jam’s ‘Nothingman’ for the show while Martin paid tribute to Prince with ‘Raspberry Beret’.

The Global Citizen Festival was held in New York’s Central Park. The event aims to “harness actions from millions of Global Citizens around the world to hold world leaders accountable to the progress made toward achieving the Global Goals set out by the United Nations last year.”

The Global Citizen Festival was established in 2012. Chris Martin has signed on as curator for 15 years.

This year’s event also featured performances from Metallica, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Demi Lovato, Major Lazer, Usher, Ellie Goulding.
