David Bowie To Release 40th Anniversary Young Americans Picture Disc

David Bowie will release another 40th anniversary edition in 2015.This time it is for his soul 70s single ‘Young Americans’.

‘Young Americans’ was originally released on February 15, 1975. February 23, 2015 sees the release of the special limited David Bowie 7″ picture disc of ‘Young Americans’.

Originally released in Spring 1975 and taken from the album of the same name, this 2007 Tony Visconti single mix is making its vinyl debut.

The AA-side, which runs at 33 1/3 r.p.m, is It’s Gonna Be Me (with strings), an alternate version of an outtake from the 1974 Sigma Sound sessions in Philadelphia. It was first released on the Young Americans album special edition in 2007 and is also making it first appearance on vinyl.

The image used on the A-side of the picture disc is by the famous Hollywood photographer of the 1940s/50s Tom Kelley. The photograph on the AA- side is a 1974 shot by Steve Schapiro.

Young Americans is released on Parlophone February 23, 2015.
