Quaid performed the song with Jamie James who is a member of his band Dennis Quaid & the Sharks.

Quaid wrote ‘On My Way To Heaven’ for his mother. The song was featured Quaid’s recent movie ‘I Can Only Imagine’ about a country star Bart Millard who in the movie writes it about his dad, played by Quaid.

‘I Can Only Imagine’ is the fourth highest grossing biopic of all-time in the USA behind ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘Straight Outta Compton’ and ‘Walk The Line’.

Quaid is a veteran of over 80 films including ‘Footloose’ (2011), ‘Any Given Sunday’ (1999), ‘Postcards from the Edge’ (1990) and ‘The Big Easy’ (1987).
